Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland MP, has congratulated all recipients of Australia Day honours in 2026 from across the Euroa electorate, recognising the outstanding service, leadership and dedication of local residents.
Ms Cleeland said Australia Day awards are an important opportunity to celebrate people who give back to their communities and make a real difference at the local level.
“From our towns and villages to our rural communities, the Euroa electorate is home to people who quietly roll up their sleeves and get on with supporting others,” Ms Cleeland said.
“Whether it’s through volunteering, emergency services, community groups, sport, agriculture, education, health or local advocacy, these award recipients embody the values of service, resilience and community spirit that define our region.”
Ms Cleeland congratulated all locals recognised throughout the day, acknowledging the impact their work has across the electorate.
She also paid special tribute to local residents recognised through the Federal Australia Day Honours, acknowledging the significant impact their contributions have made both locally and nationally.
Federal honours recipients from the Euroa electorate in 2026 include:
- Mr Reginald Cleland OAM (Kilmore) – for service to equestrian sports.
- Ms Christine Welsh OAM (Seymour) – for service to the community through emergency response organisations.
- Mr Vivian Beaumont OAM (Avenel) – for service to the community through a range of roles.
- Mrs Di Mackrell OAM (Kelvin View) – for service to the community of the Strathbogie region.
- Mr Geoffrey Penny OAM (Terip Terip) – for service to the communities of Gobur and Terip Terip.
- Mr Gerard “Gerry” Ryan AO (Nagambie) – for distinguished service to sports governance, the tourism and hospitality industry, business, and to the community through philanthropic contributions.
“These honours belong not just to the recipients, but to the communities they serve,” Ms Cleeland said.
“Across places like Euroa, Benalla, Nagambie, Heathcote, Seymour, Kilmore and our smaller townships, these individuals help keep our communities connected, compassionate and strong.”
