With the football and netball seasons in full swing, clubs across the region are being urged to apply now for state government funding to improve their facilities before time runs out.
The Nationals Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland, is encouraging local clubs to work with their councils to submit applications for the current round of the Country Football and Netball Program, which closes on Monday, 7 July 2025.
Grants of up to $250,000 are available for projects such as new or upgraded change rooms, lighting improvements, water-saving infrastructure and other critical facility developments.
“This is a great opportunity for clubs to secure funding that can make a real difference to local sport,” Ms Cleeland said.
“Grassroots football and netball are at the heart of our communities, and quality facilities help boost participation while delivering wider health and social benefits.”
Applications must be made by local councils, but clubs can support the process by submitting an expression of interest.
Ms Cleeland said many clubs across the region had been overlooked in recent State Budgets and remained in desperate need of basic upgrades.
“Whether it is better lighting, accessible change rooms or resurfaced playing fields, these upgrades are long overdue in many of our towns,” Ms Cleeland said.
“I strongly encourage all local councils to take advantage of this opportunity and submit applications on behalf of their clubs.”

This program follows the success of several local organisations under the recently closed Sporting Club Grants Program, including Longwood Football Netball Club, Euroa Cricket Club, Benalla Bowls Club and Kilmore Swimming Club.
