Representatives from lawn bowls clubs across the region are set to gather together to participate in the inaugural Annabelle Cleeland MP 2024 Parliament Bowls Cup.
The exciting event will take place on Monday, March 18 at Victoria’s Parliament House, proudly home to the oldest bowling green in Victoria still in use.
Nationals Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland said the tournament was set to be a fantastic occasion for everyone involved.
“This tournament promises to be a fun opportunity for camaraderie and friendly competition, bringing together clubs from throughout the region,” Ms Cleeland said.
“I look forward to sharing the joy of bowls and fostering connections within the bowls community.”
Players from Benalla, Euroa, Heathcote, Murchison, Seymour, and Violet Town will be participating in the tournament, which will also include a tour of Parliament House.
Ms Cleeland has continued to show support for local sporting clubs, recently advocating for clubs across the electorate to receive funding support under the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.
“Our local sports clubs are providing people with a strong sense of community, belonging, and an active lifestyle, and deserve all the support they can get,” Ms Cleeland said.
“The proposed infrastructure upgrades I have seen will benefit the community immensely, including upgrading facilities and improving accessibility for our female athletes.”
