Nationals Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland is encouraging young people across the electorate to participate in an upcoming photography competition organised by the Parliament of Victoria.
The State of the Future Youth Photo Competition invites Victorian young people aged 18 to 30 to enter a photo of themselves in their local Victorian community with an accompanying caption about their hopes for the future.
A prize of $400 will be awarded to each winning entry, with the work exhibited online, on social media, and at Parliament of Victoria.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for the young people in our electorate to demonstrate their photography skills while also expressing their own personal hopes and dreams for the future,” Ms Cleeland said.
“With winners receiving both a cash prize and their work displayed at Parliament and online, this competition can provide a massive platform for our talented local photographers.
“I encourage all those interested to apply as soon as possible.”
Entrants are encouraged to take inspiration from the Today/Tomorrow exhibition at Parliament House, which celebrates the energy, curiosity, and dreams that shape the lives of 18–30 year olds.
Judges are looking for entries that demonstrate a clearly articulated message, interesting insights, ideas and perspectives, and a clear understanding of why the ideas are important.
Rules for the competition:
- The competition is open to Victorians aged 18 to 30 who are eligible to vote in Victorian state elections.
- Photographs must not contain any copyrighted or offensive material, and must be the entrant’s own work.
- No AI generated images will be accepted.
- Accompanying caption must not exceed 100 words.
- Entries must be submitted via the online form.
- Only one entry per person will be accepted.
Entries are due by 5pm, Tuesday 2 April 2024 and submissions can be made through an online entry form at https://victorianparliament.us.launchpad6.com/youth-photo-competition/upload-entry
