The Nationals’ Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland, has kicked off another year of her Christmas card competition, with hundreds of students across the region already submitting their entries.
Each year, Ms Cleeland invites students from schools across the region to design a Christmas card that reflects what they love best about their local area.
With all schools now receiving information about the competition, hundreds of designs have begun to reach Ms Cleeland ahead of the festive season.
“I want to thank all of the wonderful children across the region who have already sent through their designs,” Ms Cleeland said.
“Our young students are truly incredible artists, and I have already been so impressed by the drawings coming through. Whether it be pictures of Santa or a sunny barbecue with family, the designs are showing the many different ways that we can celebrate Christmas in our region.
“The students can take inspiration from a range of places and facets of life in our electorate, including our agriculture industry, waterways, and other natural wonders such as our native flora and fauna.”
Last year’s winner, Nagambie Primary School student Sarah Luff encapsulated the iconic Australian summer in a beautiful and festive way.
Winning artwork from each school will be included on Ms Cleeland’s Christmas cards and receive prizes, with an overall region-wide winner set to feature on the cover of the card.
Winners are expected to be announced by Ms Cleeland in the coming weeks.
