Cleeland hitting the road to connect with local communities

The Nationals’ Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland, will spend next Sunday out and about across the electorate, meeting with locals and supporting communities as part of a busy day of community engagement.

Ms Cleeland said it was important for elected representatives to be visible, accessible and present in the communities they serve.

“One of the most important parts of my role is getting out into our towns, listening to local people and showing up for our communities,” Ms Cleeland said.

“Country communities are built on strong relationships and local connections, and I want people to know that I will always make the time to come and have a conversation, hear their concerns and celebrate what makes our towns so special.”

The day will begin at 2.15pm with a Town Hall Recovery Meet and Greet at the Creighton’s Creek Hall, providing an opportunity for residents to come together, discuss local recovery efforts and raise any issues or concerns with their local MP.

Ms Cleeland will then head to the Longwood Football Netball Club from around 3.30pm to support players, volunteers and spectators on match day.

The day will conclude with a Mates Day event at the White Hart Hotel in Longwood from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, where Ms Cleeland will swap Parliament for the public bar and pour beers alongside locals.

“Mates Day is all about catching up, checking in and strengthening the connections that are so important in our regional communities,” Ms Cleeland said.

“I’ll be behind the bar pouring beers, having a chat and looking forward to catching up with as many people as possible.”

“Whether it’s at the town hall meeting, the footy or the pub, I encourage people to come along, say hello and have a conversation about the issues that matter to them.”

Residents are encouraged to attend one or all of the events throughout the day.
