With the warmer weather settling in, Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland MP is encouraging locals and visitors to get outside and enjoy the incredible natural spaces right across the region.
From a walk around Lake Benalla, the Botanical Gardens or Winton Wetlands, to exploring Reef Hills State Park, there are plenty of options in and around Benalla for families and visitors.
Around Euroa, locals can enjoy the Seven Creeks walking tracks, the Euroa Arboretum, Balmattum Bushland Reserve and the nearby Strathbogie Ranges, which offer some of the best bush walks and scenic views in the region.
In Seymour, popular spots include the Hughes Creek walking tracks, the Goulburn River and surrounding reserves, sections of the Seymour Rail Trail and the nearby Tallarook State Forest.
Kilmore also offers great outdoor spaces, including Kilmore Creek walking tracks, Monument Hill Reserve, the Galada Tamboore Hills and the walking loop around the Kilmore Golf Course.
“We are incredibly lucky to live in a part of Victoria with so many beautiful, accessible outdoor spaces,” Ms Cleeland said.
“Whether it’s a bush walk, a lakeside picnic, a swim, or just getting some fresh air with the kids, now is the perfect time to enjoy what our region has to offer.”
Ms Cleeland said spending time outdoors is good for both physical and mental wellbeing and often brings people into nearby towns, helping support local cafes, shops and small businesses.
“Getting out into our natural environment is a great reminder of why so many of us choose to live here,” she said. “It’s also a simple way to support local communities while enjoying some well-earned downtime.”
Ms Cleeland encouraged people to plan a day trip, pack a picnic and make the most of the fine weather over the coming weeks.
“There’s no shortage of places to explore across our electorate. I’d encourage everyone to get out, enjoy the sunshine and make the most of it.”
