Nationals Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland will host a farm crime forum in Locksley in June to discuss ongoing safety concerns across the region.
Ms Cleeland will be joined by Shadow Minister for Police Brad Battin at the Locksley CFA building on Wednesday, June 12.
Together, the pair will also hold general community safety meetings in Benalla, Broadford, and Euroa.
The meeting in Locksley will allow locals the opportunity to raise concerns about the rise of criminal incidents locally, in particular farm crimes and thefts in the region.
“Several constituents across the region have reached out to me about rising incidents of crime in our towns,” Ms Cleeland said.
“People are understandably concerned, and having this opportunity to speak with the Shadow Police Minister and myself will allow them to share their experiences and give firsthand examples of what is happening in our communities.
“Farm crimes are something being brought to my attention more often than ever, and it is crucial that our farmers are given an opportunity to be heard.
“Break-ins and thefts have left a lot of people feeling unsafe on their farms at the moment and this meeting will allow us to share how our community is feeling with this Government.
“It is time Labor took the safety our regional communities seriously.”
More information on the time and location of all the forums will be announced closer to the date on Annabelle Cleeland’s website and social media accounts.
