Final call: Last remaining spots for Kokoda Trek Scholarship
Time is running out for Year 11 students across the Euroa electorate to apply for the Kokoda Trek John ‘Jack’ Dawson Scholarship, which closes at 5pm this Friday, 6 March 2026, with only a handful of places remaining.
The Nationals Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland MP said two students will each receive $7,115 to trek the Kokoda Trail with Adventure Kokoda during the July 2026 school holidays.
“The Kokoda Trail is a powerful place of courage and sacrifice,” Ms Cleeland said. “It’s where ordinary Australians did extraordinary things, including men from our own region,” Ms Cleeland said.
Students must submit an essay and short questionnaire, with finalists interviewed by a panel of current or former servicemen and women. Successful applicants will be fully chaperoned throughout the trek.
The scholarship is proudly supported by Kilmore Racing Club, Seymour Racing Club, Seymour RSL, Seymour Club, Costerfield Mining, Mr Brian Vial and other valued sponsors.
