Letter to the Editor – What a Year it’s Been

As 2025 draws to a close and we welcome the start of 2026, I want to take a moment to wish everyone across our community a very happy, healthy and safe New Year.

The past year has reminded us just how resilient and generous our region is. Through challenges and change, I have continued to see neighbours supporting neighbours, volunteers giving their time without hesitation, and families and community groups coming together to look after one another. That spirit is something we can all be proud of.

The summer holidays are a time to pause, spend time with loved ones and recharge for the year ahead. Whether you are travelling, enjoying our beautiful local towns and landscapes, or simply taking a well-earned rest at home, I hope this season brings you joy and a chance to reflect on what truly matters.

As we step into 2026, I remain committed to standing up for our community and working hard on the issues that matter most to local families, businesses and community organisations. I look forward to continuing those conversations with you in the year ahead.
