Across 2024, we have been able to achieve some truly incredible things for our region.
This includes wins for individuals and community groups, securing funding for major projects, improving service delivery in our towns, and making Labor backflip on some poor and out-of-touch decisions that would impact our community.
Some highlights include:
- AusNet investing over $20m to upgrade and duplicate the Benalla-Euroa power line.
- More weekend services confirmed for North East V/Line trips.
- Labor backflipping and re-introducing planning squads to deal with planning permit backlogs.
- Upgrades to sporting clubs such as Longwood Football Netball Club.
- Labor backflipping on their health tax.
- Funding confirmed for the Tomorrow Today Foundation.
- Upgrades for CFA brigades and SES units, including the Heathcote co-located site.
- Upgrades to schools, including Broadford Secondary College.
- Successfully pushed for inquiries into the 2022 floods, and the Commonwealth Games fiasco.
While these are some major wins for our region and everyone that lives in them, there remains a lot of work to be done.
Under this Labor Government, too many crucial services have been neglected.
Our schools, hospitals, roads, and emergency services are just some of the areas suffering at the moment that we will keep fighting for.
