New grants to help grow healthy communities

The Nationals’ Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland, is encouraging local community groups and organisations to apply for VicHealth’s Growing Healthy Communities grants.

The $4.7 million funding round is now open, with applications closing on October 30, 2025.

“Strong and healthy communities do not just happen, they are built through the work of grassroots groups who bring people together,” Ms Cleeland said.

“These grants are a fantastic opportunity to give local organisations the tools they need to run programs that improve health, wellbeing, and social connection across our towns.”

This year, the grants will focus on helping young people from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, including regional communities, while addressing barriers that limit participation and wellbeing.

Funding is available in two tiers:

  • Tier 1: $10,000 – $50,000
  • Tier 2: $50,001 – $150,000

Eligible applicants include sporting, community, cultural, recreational, creative, some local government, and other not-for-profit organisations.

Full eligibility details are available at VicHealth Growing Healthy Communities Grants.

“Our local clubs and community groups are often run by volunteers who stretch every dollar,” Ms Cleeland said.

“Securing this type of funding can make a real difference, whether it is helping a sporting club expand opportunities for young people, or supporting a community kitchen that provides healthy meals.

“I strongly encourage all eligible groups in our community to apply.”
