Nationals Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland has praised the efforts of the Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society on hosting yet another successful Seymour Show last weekend.
The annual event had something for everyone with cattle, horses, yard dogs, baking, art, produce, market stalls, rides, fireworks, and so much more.
Ms Cleeland said the show was something to look forward to each year and praised the determination of the organisers to bounce back following significant floods last year.
“The Seymour Show continues to be a stand-out event in our region, with events, stalls, and activities for everyone in the community to enjoy,” Ms Cleeland said.
“After much of Kings Park was underwater last year, it has been incredible to see the clean-up efforts to get the area back up and running for another Seymour Show. The work of all those involved should be congratulated.
“Thank you to all the dedicated volunteers who poured their heart and soul into making this year’s show another resounding success. To all the committee members, well done on showcasing our region’s amazing growers and producers.
“This is exactly what country shows should be all about – celebrating our community and the incredible talents within it.”
The Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society was founded in 1858 and is the oldest local community organisation and one of the oldest agricultural societies in Australia.
The Seymour Show has occupied several venues around the town but settled in 1905 at Kings Park, Tallarook Street and has continued there to this day.
