The Nationals’ Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland, has officially opened applications for local bowlers to participate in the 2025 Euroa Electorate Bowls Tournament, set to be held at the iconic Parliament of Victoria.
Following the resounding success of the inaugural 2024 tournament, which showcased skill, camaraderie, and sportsmanship, this year’s event promises to be even bigger and better.
In 2024, 24 players from 10 clubs across the region competed for the title of Electorate Champions on the state’s oldest greens, located right at Parliament House. Clubs represented included Seymour, Violet Town, Nagambie, Benalla, Euroa, Heathcote, Seymour VRI, Murchison, Swanpool, and Avenel. Bowlers faced off over two games of eight ends, with spirited competition and strong community spirit on display.
Building on this momentum, the 2025 tournament will expand to include more players, forming two competition groups. The event is scheduled for March 17, with details already shared with clubs across the electorate.
“This tournament is a fantastic opportunity for friendly competition and community connection, bringing together clubs from right across our region,” Ms Cleeland said.
“I encourage all interested bowlers to reach out to their local clubs and register for what promises to be another memorable event.
“It’s also a chance to welcome more people to the historic Parliament of Victoria, to experience its significance firsthand and see how decisions made here directly impact our communities.
“I look forward to sharing the joy of bowls again next year and strengthening the bonds within our bowls community.”
In addition to the tournament, participants will enjoy a light lunch and a guided tour of Parliament House, offering a blend of sport and history.
