Several local sporting clubs will benefit following successful grant applications in the latest Victorian Sporting Club Grants Program.
The Nationals’ Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland said she was thrilled to see four local sporting clubs amongst the 400 selected statewide in round two of the program, following on from the nine recipients recognised in round one.
The following clubs were successful in attracting funding for on-field uniforms and equipment in round two:
- Euroa Junior Football Netball Club
- North Eastern Archers in Benalla
- Pyalong Netball Club
- Rushworth Football Netball Club
Round one recipients included the Benalla Scout Group, Avenel Bowling Club, Broadford Cricket Club, Heathcote cricket Club, Nagambie Bowls Club, Samaria Suns Sports Club, Tabilk Junior Football Club, Kilmore Junior Football Club, and the Nagambie Lakes sailing club.
Ms Cleeland congratulated the clubs for their successful applications, noting they were richly deserved, and she looks forward to seeing the positive impact this funding will deliver for local participants.
“It is fantastic to have such a diverse range of sporting groups selected, all dedicated to bringing down the costs of being involved in sport,” Ms Cleeland said.
“With the cost-of-living pinching household budgets, now more than ever, it is great to see community groups sourcing initiatives to make sport easier and more accessible for everyone.
“These grants will help remove barriers and boost engagement in our vibrant regional sporting scene by increasing participation.”
