The Nationals’ Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland, is encouraging local RSLs and veterans’ community groups to apply for two important grant programs supporting veterans, with applications closing September 15.
The Anzac Day Proceeds Fund provides support for ex-service organisations and veterans’ groups to deliver practical welfare and wellbeing programs.
Grants can help fund activities such as direct welfare services, health and wellbeing programs, education costs for dependants, transport support, or small equipment purchases that benefit veterans and their families.
The Victoria Remembers Grant Program offers up to $30,000 for projects that honour and commemorate veterans’ service.
This can include new or upgraded memorials, commemorative events, education projects such as digital storytelling or school engagement, and the preservation of wartime heritage for future generations.
Ms Cleeland said the programs were a meaningful way to give back to those who have given so much.
“Our veterans, RSLs, and military history are a crucial part of our region, and these grants are a practical way to ensure their contributions are supported and remembered for years to come,” Ms Cleeland said.
“Whether it’s funding welfare programs, upgrading a memorial, or creating an education project, there are opportunities here for many community groups.
“I strongly encourage RSLs and veterans’ organisations to consider applying, and if you need a letter of support for your project, please don’t hesitate to reach out.”
